Andrew Craig at Royal Preston Hospital reported this innovation, using MS Access:

The way this tool works is everyday we scan a number of RSS Feeds.  Then a program runs and attempts to sought the items by category.  So for example we have as one of our categories "Renal Medicine".  The tool will look for various keywords (Renal, Kidney, Haemodialysis, Nephrology etc.) If it picks up on any of these terms it will give it the subject heading renal medicine.  Multiple subject headings can be assigned to any one item.

TOCRoSS

This was a JISC project - Table of Contents by Really Simple Syndication.  TOCRoSS demonstrated that it is possible to automate the inclusion of TOCs from a publisher into a library OPAC.
